Bishops and Wives
Your Role as Company Commander:
To Watch over your company of families and be the spiritual leader
Responsibilities for each Bishop and their Wife
Bishop’s Wife: Review all the youth in your ward attending trek. Be aware of all dietary restrictions. The cooks will prepare Gluten Free meals for those needed. Please walk those youth to the cooks prior to the meals to get their food first.
Bishop’s Wife: Please be aware of all medical needs in your company/ward.
Bishop’s Wife: Each parent of a youth attending will be asked to send a letter from home to their child. We would like to ask that the bishop’s wife collect those letters and make sure that every youth in their ward has a letter. If there is not one provided, please ask a special leader to the youth to write one, or the bishop’s wife will be able to write on to that youth.
Bishop: Please prepare for Testimony Meeting on the 2nd evening in each company.
BISHOP & his Wife: On the last day, there will be a sign posted along the trail that will say, “Bishop and wife, lead your Company in, Starting Now! You are almost there – Prepare.” This sign signals you that it is time to stop and take a minute with your company. (This is the last 1/8 mile, “let’s start something good as we commit to finish this trek – Commit to a trail of Hope!”) Bishop and Wife will go first at a SLOWER pace, as you lead your handcarts into camp. There will be a “Welcome to Zion” banner and a celebration!
Bishop and Wife, if you have a ma/pa not at this training, could you please review all the training information with them?
Notes for Bishops
Each Bishop will need a radio – will you please find one?
